Southampton Craft Fair

Well the Southampton craft fair was awesome! Made some sales yes, but more importantly we met some lovely people and traded stories about indigenous craftwork. 60% of the sales were to other indigenous people which was heartwarming.

I started the day with a variation on an old tradition in markets from other countries. Often the first sale of the day sets the tone for luck for the seller so the sale is usually very reasonable and the customer treated with honour. In my case I gave the first pair of earrings away free to a lovely lady who was very startled and much appreciative!

I’m not sure how many fairs I will be able to do in the coming year but I hope at least one or two more.

As this year draws to a close, I’m sending all my best to all the amazing indigenous crafters out there in Canada. May 2025 bring health and prosperity to us all! 🙏🏼🙂
